LEARN TO DELEGATE! OUTSOURCING GROCERY SHOPPING IS A GREAT START
I only had 1 coffee this AM but am thinking about all the hundreds of questions I get each and every week.
One recurring question is invariably how to systematize the mundane parts of the business that are repetitive.
One of the most repetitive is GROCERY SHOPPING.
I do not recommend that all my students buy food for their group homes, but depending on the level of care provided at the assisted living, care home or group home – buying food may be a requirement.
If so, there are a multitude of options. For most small operators (1 – 10 group homes) buying food will need to be done by the operator or by one of the maintenance staff.
This poses a few potential problems:
1. Sending maintenance out to pick up food can be a time-waste
2. If you (the owner) are doing the shopping, you maybe able to spend your time in more value-added places (i.e. growth)
3. If you have maintenance doing the shopping, who is to say that they aren’t buying food for their own home? How do you know that they are buying STRICTLY FOR THE GROUP HOMES? (i.e. stealing)
Trust Me – YOU DON’T!
I have been down this path. In fact, back in 2008 and 2009 we began having our maintenance staff do our grocery runs……The costs began SKYROCKETING OUT OF CONTROL.
It was great because it saved a LOT OF TIME…but it CRUSHED THE BOTTOM LINE
I DO NOT WANT THIS TO HAPPEN TO YOU!
SO HERE IS LESSON #3 for the day:
Think about outsourcing your food shopping to INSTACART.
Look, to be exceedingly profitable you need to be VIGILANT about using technology to your advantage. Using an outsourced shopper to buy your groceries can mean the difference between making $1,000 per home and making $3,000 per home.
Why?
BECAUSE YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHAT THEY ARE BUYING.
An average, a well run group home will NET YOU (meaning SPENDABLE CASH EACH AND EVERY MONTH) $2,200 – $3,000 PER MONTH).
I realize this isn’t HUGE money. But considering that it will take you roughly 3 – 10 hours to oversee this home, its a TREMENDOUS amount of money. PLUS, you can SCALE UP QUICKLY. Having 3,4,7 or even 10 GROUP HOMES is VERY DOABLE.
Learning the SECRETS OF OUTSOURCING YOUR GROCERY SHOPPING, COLLECTIONS, MAINTENANCE and MARKETING of your GROUP HOME is what I teach people to do in my
FREE, 10-PART INSTRUCTION COURSE. IF YOU HAVENT ALREADY SIGNED UP, I URGE YOU TO
This is what separates the winners from the losers. It is also what allows my students to grow their GROUP HOME EMPIRE into a monthly CASH MACHINE that consistently kicks off NET, SPENDABLE INCOME (i.e. FREE CASHFLOW)
So there you go. Learn to delegate. Learn to Outsource. And think strongly about utilizing INSTACART for all your grocery shopping needs.
