For success in life, it is vital that you spend time with people at different levels. The fact that you are reading this means you want to better your life. The reality is that you probably spend most of your time with people playing the game of life at a lower level than you. They are not trying to grow, they may hate their life and their job but they just keep going because they feel they have no other choice. Being a group home owner actually puts you in a perfect position to apply the law of 33%.

You were made to make an impact on the world. When you put your hand to your chest and you feel that thing beating, that is your heart, and that is a reminder that you have PURPOSE! Your purpose was not to just get by in life scrapping together whatever you can to live. You were meant to be prosperous and help others prosper and there is no better way to do this then to start a group home.
Take A Sneak Peak at Some of Our Group Homes
We were doing some visits and walkthroughs in a few of our group homes, and I thought it would be great if we took some pictures for you. The first thing you will notice looking at the following pictures is that Group Homes are NOT fancy. We talk about this in our books. Many of these people are coming from tough situations, and they need a roof over their heads. Spending money on anything that will cause you to have to raise prices, is not to your advantage. Scroll through these pictures, and we will go more in detail at the bottom of this post.

Do I Need a License for My Group Home?
Do you need a license to start your group home or not? Well, that answer depends on and we have everything you need to make sure you understand this. Our video goes over the basics, but when you dive into the membership site, we provide complete documents that can help you to understand this once and for all. It is frustrating because many times going to talk with people in the government about group homes can leave you more confused then when you went.
WHY PRIVACY AND ANONYMITY IN THE MODERN WORLD SHOULD BE TREASURED
I just got a text message from a business owner in Dallas who is working with, as he put it, a “Snitch.” The “Snitch” is a South Dallas homeowner who is essentially tattling tailing on landlords in Oak Cliff (South Dallas) to code compliance officials. The Bird Dog (who they refer to as the snitch for laughter purposes) is essentially a wholesaler looking to make $1,000 – $3,000 per deal that he can refer to the business owners. So let’s talk about what this has to do with Privacy and Anonymity. To begin with, the “Bird Dog” initially goes to the local county website and types in the property address. There, nine times out of 10, he can pinpoint the owner. With this information, he can call code compliance and code can come out, site the home for a violation and possibly begin causing issues for the owner.

What Type of Group Home Do I Start With?
Group Home
The type of group home you decide to start with first matters more than you know. The reason is the that not all group homes are equal in what it requires in order to start them. Some come with more regulation, rules, restrictions, guidelines and all of these things bring more expenses. We teach people how to start “mom and pop” shops that do not require licenses simply because not everyone can afford to go through that process until they have a few going already. It can be upwards of $20,000 to do it.
We know what you are thinking, you probably spoke with someone and they said you need a license. In the important Documents section of our Gold Membership, we teach people how to use the Fair Housing Act to protect your house from any legal troubles. Not only have we used this with our homes for years but we have taught others to do the same.
Why Personal Development And Your Emotional Bank Account Needs To Be A Top 3 Goal!
Back in the real estate hey-days of 2003 – 2006, there were tens of thousands of people who were “Paper Millionaires.” Similar to the lady that we discussed in the wall street journal article from a few weeks back. They were not focused on personal development and getting better just making money. Many of these people took the easy road to wealth, and as the saying goes:
“If you do what is easy, your life will be hard. If you do what is hard, your life will be easy.”
Coaching Call Summary #2 – Starting With Big Dreams and No Capital
Starting a group home is not just for the wealthy by any means. There are everyday people running group homes all around this country. This call was inspiring, and I decided to summarize it so that you could learn from its key lessons. There are so many people who have pushed off helping others because they claim to have no capital. When we get to talk, they are shocked to learn what it takes to start a group home if you know what to do and know where to look. Sometimes it can be so simple that it seems too easy and in some sense, if you are willing to work hard at the right things, it is easy. Make sure you listen to Coaching Call Summary #1 as well.

Your Circle Of Competence and Why Sober Homes Are So Lucrative
If you read this blog periodically, you know that we are big believers in the quote, “there are riches in the niches.” Where this gets a little more fun is when you begin to “sub-niche.” What I mean by this is picking out an industry that you want to get into, where you know there is money being made, and something that (hopefully) you understand. Warren Buffett refers to this as your circle of competence. Periodically, you need to expand your circle of competence or as he likes to say “venture out to the perimeter.” Get ready to learn a crap ton about sober homes.
